TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 4 OCT 2005

 

Scenic:

Our set is approximately 9m wide by 4m high by 2.1m deep. We need a gap of minimum 75 cm behind the back wall of our set to the stage back wall. Downstage of the set we require 4m to 6m depth of acting area. The set needs to be fixed to the floor with screws. We also require 6 stage weights and two variable weight sand bags.

 

The top of the set needs to be masked with a border across the width of the set/stage trimmed at approx. 3m directly above the set.

 

Ideally we would like the stage to have a black box effect with side masking.

 

There are two effects that need to be rigged off the grid or flying bars in the venue. One is a diagonal wire from USL to USR for a bird prop to slide down on, and a small drop box. The venue has to provide appropriate access for the rigging of these effects.

 

Sound:

Spymonkey requires

• a decent quality PA system with plenty of bass
• on-stage fold-back
• one auto-pause MD player
• two auto-pause CD players
• a reverb unit
• a DVD player.
• one hand-held radio microphone positioned on a mic stand USL
• We tour 4 UHF radio microphones that need to be tied into the sound mixer. The frequencies are in the 838 to 865 MHZ range.
• The sound mixer needs to have at least 16 inputs.

 

Lighting/Electrics:

• See plan attached. There is some flexibility in the layout of the LX rig. Please call to discuss details. All gobos are B size.
• We need a mirror ball with a rotator and a DMX Strobe (High End AF1000 or Martin Atomic 3000)
• Our chandelier needs to be connected to an in house dimmer.
• Two non-dimmed power supplies of 10A each are needed on stage. (one USL and one USR)
• Smoke machine

 

 

AV:

·       Our show requires a video projector with a wide-angle (depending on the stage depth) lens with at least 1500 lumen output which is rigged on its side (to give portrait framing) about 1m above the floor USL.

• We need a monitor/TV approximately 15’’ (21” for larger venues) placed USR with approx. 5m trailing lead.
• Both the Monitor and projector will get the video signal from the DVD player in the control booth. The signal can be physically swapped in the booth or on stage during the interval. All AV equipment must be PAL compatible.

 

 

 

Dressing rooms:

The Company requires at least one dressing room with mirror, toilet and washing facilities. An iron and iron board will also be needed along with a costume rail.

 

Stage Management:

Upstage we need two large props tables, one sturdy costume rail and a full length mirror. All props tables must have blue low level light work light.

 

Miscellaneous:

A 22mm starting pistol will be fired twice during the show and a smoke machine is used heavily. A Strobe is used to create a lightning effect. One scene includes full frontal nudity both male and female.

 

Spymonkey tours with two technicians and one Stage Manager who are responsible for all technical aspects of the show. It is important that the venue provides competent in-house staff with full working knowledge of the theatre and its equipment to work with our technicians at all times through the fit-up, show and get-out.

 

Please advise on the theatre's time schedule, crew calls and performance time. Running times are as follows:

• Act 1: 45 mins approx.
• Interval: 20 mins
• Act 2: 35 mins approx.

 

The venue must take full responsibility for the Heath and Safety of its staff and audience and advise the company on emergency evacuation procedures.

 

It is very important that all aspects of the technical rider are accommodated. Any difficulties with our requirements must be discussed in good time prior to our arrival.
