MUMS
Hello Everybody,
I am sure that you are familiar with our S&M number. Well, it is very new in the show but still it has been in the show almost for year and a half.
Every time I go there to do the number my heart shrunk a little bit. It is not finish and after working on it for a while we gave up because we did not fell enough support from the big chiefs in Montreal. It is not the first time that happen but and it would not be the last one.
So, as I was saying you go on the stage and you get this energy from inside you that it is like a bomb about to exploit, that carry me enough time of the number until I can find something else to keep me going. If the audience laugh your energy also change but most of the time they do not laugh for enough time to recharge your tank.
The other day, the nineteen of June, Hugo's mum was here. Someone came to the dressing room saying how wonderful she was. At first I thought, well who cares, I am sure it is like sweet old lady and that is all about her.
So when I was doing the number I saw a lady with a yellow outfit and I understood why they were saying she was wonderful. She was dressed in a yellow outfit typical in Nigeria with matching scarf that was holding her long hair in the back. Sitting in next to Anika she looked grandiose.
It was for me like one of those people that are our of their element but they managed to keep their identity. I liked her very much.
It reminded me of my father and the time he came to see Zumanity, He was sitting quite far away from the stage, hidden from the spotlight. He was looking to the show like if it was a piece of art or better with all the senses because it was something that his son has done. In the same way I saw Hugo's mum, concentrated on the show like in an Ingmar Bergman movie. It was all love.
Have fun
