Mathew Baynton, Rose Bruford University

BA dissertation: ‘The work of Cal McCrystal and Spymonkey’

Following his work as Cal McCrystal's assistant on Spymonkey's 'Bless', Mat went on to found his own clown company, Piggy Nero. Mat was co-writer and star, with James Corden, of BBC's 'The Wrong Mans', and a regular 'Horrible Histories' team member.

 

Smari Gunnarsson, Rose Bruford University

BA dissertation ‘Spymonkey: Duality of Comedy and Theatre’

Smari is now a film director and actor working in London.

Publications

The company's devising process is considered, alongside John Wright and Tim Crouch, in Stephe Pritchard's 'Creating Comedy: Techniques & Excercises', a DVD resource for Pumpkin Interactive. Includes interviews with artistic directors Toby Park, Aitor Basauri and Petra Massey.
