Collaborations / Assistant Director Call-Out

Spymonkey are looking for an Assistant Director to join their small team for research and development phase of our next production, Apocalypse Wow.

If you are a director and would be interested in being part of our collaborative, devising process to kick-start the making of a new Spymonkey show please take a look at the details below and download the info document for more details about how to apply.

We are looking to work with an Assistant Director who’s interested in physical comedy theatre to work with Spymonkey’s core team, plus director Adele Thomas and writer Carl Grose in Brighton between Mon 24th – Fri 28th May 2021. The Assistant Director will also undertake the role of documenting the process so an interest in this is essential to anyone who applies.

We are particularly keen to use this opportunity to meet people outside of our existing networks and we positively encourage applications from people who have experienced racism – African diaspora people, South, East and South-East Asian diaspora people, mixed race or other minority ethnicities – or those who have been discriminated against because of gender, sexuality, disability or socioeconomic background.

We are aware this is a short application timeframe so are happy to contacted in advance of people starting an application to answer any questions. Please contact Spymonkey’s Executive Producer Emily Coleman on emilycoleman@spymonkey.co.uk
